Hyderabad: Girl student beaten up for allegedly sending abusive messages to college director

Hyderabad: In an incident which took place in the Old City of Hyderabad, an 18-year-old girl student was beaten and locked up in a classroom for four hours.

According to the news published in DC, Syeda Shams Afreen (18), a CSE student of Visionary Junior College which is located at Khilwat in Old City of Hyderabad was reportedly beaten up and detained in the classroom for four hours.

The girl student was given this punishment for allegedly sending abusive messages on WhatsApp to the Director of the college, Dilkhush Farzeen.

The girl had sent derogatory messages despite blocking her seven cellphone numbers, the management of the college alleged.

Meanwhile, the mother of the girl, Yasmeen, a resident of Chanchalguda told that her daughter has been beaten up severely and kept in a locked classroom for four hours.

She also told that three teachers, Dilkush, Salma and Fareeda had beaten up her daughter. She alleged that she was also assaulted when she approached the teachers to enquire.

Giving the details about the health condition of the girl, the mother said that as the girl is physically disabled, she used to drop and pick her up from the college every day.

Defending the stand of the management, Ms. Dilkhush Farzeen questioned why would the girl with health problems be beaten up?

She further said that the screenshots of the abusive messages have already been sent to SHE team.

Talking about the case, Sub-Inspector of Police, Husaini Alam, Mr. Y Naresh told that the management of the college had already approached SHE team for investigation.

Police registered a case and investigation is going on.
