Hyderabad girl student suicide case: College lecturer detained

Hyderabad: After new details surfaced in 17-year-old girl student suicide case, SR Nagar police detained a college faculty. He was taken into custody after police found that the faculty had spoken to the girl for hours.

According to the report published in DC, Abhignya (17), an intermediate second year student of Velocity Junior College had committed suicide by hanging herself on 3rd January. She had taken this extreme step when her father, D. Chandra Shekar (46) and mother went for a walk.

She was rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. A case was registered under section 174 of CrPC.

During the investigation, it was found that her college lecturer, Rajni Kanth had spoken with the girl over the phone for hours. Based on this evidence, police detained the lecturer.

Giving the details of the case, Mr. S. Murali Krishna, Inspector of Police said that after investigation, if needed, the case will be changed to abetment to suicide.
