Hyderabad: At Shankerpally in Ranga Reddy District, a Muslim graveyard was dismantled by the custodian (Mutawalli). He made plots of the land and started selling them.
The local residents made a representation to District Collector, Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad and other officials.
Mr. Ghulam Mohammed who is struggling to protect the graveyard informed that under survey number 234, nine acre land is registered as Wakf Property. It has been entered at serial number 3423 of AP Gazette dated 16th February 1989 under Osman Ali Dargah.
The local residents report that this land was allocated for Muslim graveyard and Eidgah. The custodian (Mutawalli) of the graveyard dismantled the graves with an evil design to sell the plots.
The local residents lodged a complaint with Shankerpally Police Station.
A memorandum has also been sent to CM for protecting Wakf property which is 200 years old.
