Hyderabad: High Court issues notices to 92 Engineering Colleges

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court has issued notices to 92 Engineering colleges asking them to explain forging of documents to get recognition for running these colleges in and around Hyderabad.

A PIL has been filed by V Praveen, Hyderabad NGO’s Secretary, Quality Foundation seeking probe of recognitions acquired by forging documents submitted to the regulatory Board All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The division bench headed by Justice V Ramasubramanian and Justice M Ganga Rao hearing the plea issued notices to 92 engineering colleges, AICTE, Central and State Governments to file counter-affidavits within four weeks.

The petitioner claims that though he has submitted all the relevant documents to the AICTE authorities the department is failing to take action against these colleges.

The petitioner’s counsel also brought to the Court’s notice that these colleges have not only forged documents but also submitted fake property documents, plans of buildings, etc to get recognition.
