Hyderabad: Hookah Centre raided, owner and others arrested

Hyderabad: Officials from Commissioner’s Task Force have arrested three persons for violating COTP Act and illegally serving Hookah at Hyderabad Times Café followed by an information received by the department.

The arrested persons are identified as Mohamed Zeeshan Ahmed, 31, owner, D. Mahendar, 29, manager, and Syed Moinuddin, a worker. The Officials have seized 33 hookah pots, 17 flavours, 40 pipes and six walkie-talkies.

DCP Radha Krishna speaking on the arrest said the raids were conducted after the department received credible information and the accused were found serving hookah by violating the COTP Act and the Hyderabad CP Act.

DCP added the accused were not following the COTP Act with no smoking area designated separately, with no proper air flow system and no proper walls on four sides of the smoking area reported DC.
