Hyderabad: Important advisory to exhibition goers

Hyderabad: Dr. K. Shankar, Superintendent of Fever Hospital, Hyderabad advised people not to shake hands with anyone. They should say ‘Salam’, ‘Namaste’, ‘Hi’, ‘Hello’ from a distance.

Dr. Shakar further advised that by shaking hands, the virus of cold or flu might get transmitted.

He informed that for the past four years, flu cases were detected during the period September-December. This year, many cases of flu have been diagnosed in the first three weeks of January. He also told that there is no need to become panicky. Such patients will get cured within five days. However, he advised the pregnant women, old persons and children to refrain from going to public places.

In the light of the increase in swine flu cases, this advisory for pregnant women, old aged persons and children holds true for exhibition goers too. Other persons may consider wearing mask to avoid transmission of the virus as a precautionary measure.
