Hyderabad: Long queues in banks for withdrawing money, panic among people

Hyderabad: People of Hyderabad are standing in long queues to withdraw money from banks. Bank officials are allowing to withdraw only Rs. 10-20 thousand per account holder which is creating panic among the people. So far, crores of rupees have been withdrawn from various banks. Bank managers are making futile efforts to pacify people. They are requesting the customers to wait till FRDI bill is passed in the Parliament. They are not in a position to give an assurance that the proposed bill will protect the interests of the customers.

Various organizations and bank employees are demanding amendments in the proposed bill. After the protests of the bank employees for amending the bill, it has become clear that the bill is not in favour of customers.

After the publication of the news two days back in Siasat Urdu Daily, long queues of customers are seen in the banks but their amounts are not being given to them which is their right. Many ATMs are going empty in the city.

The proposed bill safeguards the interests of the banks in case they go bankrupt.
