Hyderabad man dies in Texas, gives new lease of life to four

Hyderabad: A 45-year-old Hyderabad man who died in Texas, gave a new lease of life to several people in Texas, US.

As reported by TOI, Rajiv Putam, a software professional, died due to brain aneurysm. His wife Bhagya, overcoming her grief, donated all of Rajiv’s organs. A 41-year-old man received Rajiv’s heart while his lungs restored breathe of a 41-year-old. A 53-year-old woman of Houston received one of his kidneys while another kidney went to a 64-year-old male.

Rajiv is survived by his wife Bhagya and two children aged 11 years and 15 years.

Since Rajiv was the sole bread-earner of the family, a fund-raiser was set up in US for Rajiv’s family. More than $62,000 have been collected so far. Indians in the US are donating whatever they can for the family.
