Hyderabad: A married jilted lover from Barkas set his lover ablaze after she refused to marry him and later self-immolated himself at Tappachabutra on Saturday.
The jilted lover is identified as Ibrahim, is already a married man but he fell in love with another woman he met on Facebook, TT reported.
Though the girl’s family initially agreed to marry her off to Ibrahim, they refused the proposal when the girl’s family learned about Ibrahim’s first marriage.
Rejection did not go down well Ibrahim and he decided to take revenge on the woman he claimed to be in love with.
He went to the woman’s house and poured petrol on her, setting her on fire in an attempt to kill her.
The man and the victim both were rushed to the hospital and are undergoing treatment.
