Hyderabad: Masjid Alamgir of Khanampet rehabilitated, prayers started

Hyderabad: Due to the special interest taken by Mr. Mohammed Saleem, Chairman of TS Wakf Board, 318-year-old masjid Alamgir was rehabilitated.

Prayers started in the masjid with the offering of Namaz Zohar led by Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin. Mr. Saleem, Mr. Mannan Farooqui, CEO of Wakf Board and a large number of local residents offered the prayer. Mr. Saleem has been successful in protecting the land admeasuring one acre and 14 guntas. The miscreants had an eye on it.

Mr. Saleem also offered to bear the renovation charges of the masjid. For the past so many decades, the masjid was in discussion with the Wakf Board authorities but no one bothered to take any action. Soon after taking charge as chairman of Wakf Board, Mr. Saleem accepted it as a challenge and restored the masjid. Mr. Saleem also told that the salaries of Imam and Mauzin will be paid by Wakf Board. He told the local residents that it is their duty to ensure full attendance of the natives for offering five times prayer.

He advised the authorities to dig a bore well to get water for masjid. IT professionals working in Hi-Tech City would be provided accommodation in the Masjid at concessional rates.
