Hyderabad: CM of Telangana state, K Chandra Sekhar Rao will lay down the foundation stone for the construction of Secretariat building on 27th June. The govt. has not decided anything about Masjid and Mandir which are located in the Secretariat in the construction map prepared for the building.

It is reported that govt. is planning to shift these religious places to the other areas due to which Hindu and Muslim employees are getting perturbed.

It is being said that Nalla Pochamma Temple located in the centre of the Secretariat Masajid adjacent to C Block and D Block are likely to be shifted to other places which may create problems for the Hindus and the Muslims since both these groups won’t allow their places of worship to be dismantled.

Every year, Secretariat employees perform Pooja on the occasion of Bonal in which many employees participate.

It may be noted that during the tenure of Congress Govt., the Masjid adjacent to C Block was renovated. Earlier, former Govt. had decided to dismantle the Masjid adjacent to D Block acquiring its land but due to heavy protest by the Muslims, D Block was constructed leaving the space for Masjid.

Now that Mr KCR proposes to construct a new Secretariat building, two Masajid and a Temple face a danger of dismantling.

It is also reported CM has instructed the RandB officials to prepare the plan without shifting Mandir and Masjid but the architects have informed that it is not possible.

Meanwhile, Govt. of TS has constituted a cabinet Sub Committee. It is reported that this Committee recommended to shift these places of worships by taking the consent of the stakeholders. The CM of TS will take the final decision. Secretariat employees believe that any controversial decision of the Govt. could cause public protest.
