Hyderabad Metro Rail: Here are the details of smart cards, penalties for violation of rules

Hyderabad: Authorities of Hyderabad Metro Rail released details of Smart Cards and the list of penalties for violation of rules.

According to the news published in Telangana Today, if passengers stay more than 90 minutes in Metro Station Premises, they will have to pay Rs 10 per hour. The penalty for ticketless travel will be Rs. 50 + maximum fare.

On the other hand, the token issued will be valid for 120 minutes. However, the passenger can return the token within 30 minutes after purchasing it.

The cost of the Smart Card is Rs. 200 which includes caution deposit of Rs. 100 and store value of Rs. 100. Whenever passenger returns card, Rs. 80 will be refunded after deducting admin fee of Rs. 20. However, store value is non-refundable. A passenger can store a maximum of Rs. 3000 in the card which can be recharged through TSavaari app, Paytm, HMR passenger website and Add value machine. The validity of the card is 365 days.

It may be mentioned more than 45000 passengers were taking selfies aboard and on the metro station premises on the first and second day and many were seen wandering which is prohibited.

Meanwhile, security personnel arrested few persons who tried to board metro rail in an intoxicated condition.

Senior Official from HMRL said that passengers should follow rules to avoid inconvenience and penalties.
