Hyderabad: Multiple microearthquakes hit Borabanda, panic prevails in the area

Hyderabad: Panic prevailed in Borabanda area due to terrific sounds and tremours of earthquakes felt on Saturday night.

The residents of Indira Nagar, Habeeb Fatima Nagar of Borabanda area came out of their house and spent the night on the roads.

It is reported that microearthquake tremours were felt between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. three times. In view of it, Meteorology Department installed earthquake detecting apparatus in the area.

According to the report published in DC, a scientist from National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) giving the details of “microearthquakes” said that it occurred due to increase in groundwater level which served as a lubricant.

Local Corporator, Mr. Mohammed Shafi visited the area along with the officials and assured the people that there is nothing to worry.
