Hyderabad: Old City resident goes missing in Malaysia

Hyderabad: A city resident from Old City, Syed Yousuf of Barkashalala reportedly went missing in Malaysia since 25 October.
Family members of Yousuf have applied to Indian High Commission in Malaysia requesting a probe into his sudden disappearance.
He is believed to have paid an amount of Rs 75,000 to an agent Razzak who promised him to get a job visa but instead obtained a visit visa for Yousuf.
His family says, “He was tricked into it”. Yousuf who left Hyderabad on 6 July remained in touch with his family members until 24 October. The anxious family tried to contact him and his agent but was of no use.
Failing to contact Yousuf, his mother Bhanu Begum wrote to External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj in Delhi along with Indian High Commission in Malaysia on November 3 seeking their help in searching Yousuf.
The state government’s NRI department finding the situation urgent and suspicious wrote to Indian Commission in Kuala Lumpur on 6 November. “The Indian Commission in Kuala Lumpur responded stating that, they would look into the matter. The staff searched for him in hospitals and jails in Malaysia but they were unable to trace him. The search is still on,” said the family member.
