Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police’s Task Force on Saturday apprehended a person for indulging in black magic and seized 1.372 kgs of gold ornaments and Rs 3.5 lakh from his possession.

The apprehended person, identified as Syed Ismail, has been booked under section 420, 384 and 406 of the IPC.

He claimed to relieve people from worries and diseases through black magic.

“Syed Ismail studied up-to SSC, after completion of his studies he worked in a sandwich store in Banjara Hills and then as an auto driver. He also worked as an interior decorator in some houses and then six years back he started this business of black magic,” Dy. Commissioner of police task force P. Radha Kishan Rao told ANI.

“He started treating people by making them leave their ornaments near him which he used to put in pots. He would pray for their good health and ask the people to collect the gold ornaments after 40 days and tell them that by wearing those ornaments their diseases will get cured,” he added.

Recently, Ismail had said the same thing to Raziya Begum who was suffering from heart disease and asked her to give all the gold and cash to him. She gave him 14 tolas of gold ornaments and net cash.

In the same way, Ismail also cheated Ateeq Unnisa from whom he took 39 tolas of gold and took 40 tolas from Fatima Hasan.

Later, he took gold loans by mortgaging the gold ornaments in different branches of Manappuram Finance Limited.

The police has recovered the gold from all the Manappuram Finance limited branches.

The senior police officer urged people not to believe such people and come into their words by investing money. (ANI)
