Hyderabad: Police busted FICN racket, 2 held

Hyderabad: The Chandryangutta police busted a counterfeit currency racket here on Friday.

According to the DC report, the accused have been identified as Mohd Ghouse alias Bomb Ghouse, 48, who has been on the police records since 1991, and Rabiul Sheikh, 22, a resident of Malda district in West Bengal.

Commissioner of Police Hyderabad, Anjani Kumar, said, “We’ve arrested two people who were allegedly involved in an inter-state fake currency racket. Rs 3.98 Lakh fake notes and a two-wheeler have been seized from them.”

According to the report, they were apprehended on Friday by South Zone Task Force and Chandrayangutta police while they were trying to exchange the Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) in Hashamabad area.

Ghouse had a police record since 2012 for circulating fake notes. He was last arrested by Charminar police in 2016 and released on bail on January 12, 2019.

Soon after his release, he contacted Ameenul Rehman (main supplier of fake currency) and fixed a fresh deal. Rehman sent Rs 4 lacs worth FICN through Rabiul Sekh.
