Hyderabad: Taking stern action against the adulterated foods, Cyberabad Police raided the godowns located at Sanat Nagar, Bala Nagar and Alwal. The godowns were storing raw mangos for ripening them by using ethanol.
Police raided Ashok Colony in Sanat Nagar area and arrested Mehboob (28) and seized 500 packets of the chemical. In BBR Hospital, they arrested Aslam (24), resident of Talabkatta whereas the owner of the godown, Muzaffar is absconding. Police seized 200 packets.
In Alwal, Police arrested Saber (32), Sunil (24) and Tajuddin (35) and seized large quantities of packets.
Police issued warning to fruit sellers to refrain from using chemical for ripening of mangoes as it is harmful to health.
