Hyderabad: The Adibatla police recovered about 220 gram gold worth Rs 6. lakh from a notorious inter-State house burglar here on Thursday. The arrested suspect is identified as Shailendra Vishwakarma,(36), a driver and a resident of Sehore district, Madhya Pradesh.
He was earlier involved in 58 cases of house burglaries in Madhya Pradesh and eight burglaries in Gujarat.
According to police, in June this year, Vishwakarma along with his gang broke into a house at Manneguda and stole 800 gram gold. The police arrested him along with four of his accomplices involved in the crime and recovered a country made pistol and 557 gram gold, car and other material from them.
Vishwakarma who was arrested was taken into five days police custody. During the police custody, he confessed about the remaining 220 gram gold he had stolen earlier. The gold which is estimated to be around Rs 6 lakh was kept at Vishwakarma’s rented house at Indore in Madhya Pradesh, police said. After police custody, he was produced before the court which further remanded him in judicial custody. (NSS)
