Hyderabad: School teacher thrashes LKG student

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, an LKG student of Manjeera High school in Hyderabad was thrashed by her class teacher on Wednesday leaving the victim with slight injuries.

The matter was highlighted on Friday by a Child Rights activist, who demanded a strict action against the accused.

The victim named Pushpanjali, who studies in LKG, was beaten up by her class teacher Meghana as she was allegedly causing disturbance in the classroom and even pinched one of her classmate.

A case has been registered by the local police.

“The teacher got frustrated with the girl due to her disruptive behaviour, which instigated her to beat the victim. A case has been registered under section 324 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused,” according to Praveen Reddy Sub-Insector of Patancheru police station.

The matter was reported to a Child Rights activist Achyuta Rao, who condemned the entire incident and further demanded to suspend the teacher.

She told ANI, “The student was badly beaten by a teacher (named) Meghana. What is the reason to show such cruelty on the child! We demand the teacher should be removed. I would like (to) appeal the schools that the teachers should go under psychometric analysis test”.
