Hyderabad: Six drunken women were detained by the Banjara Hills police late on Saturday night when they created nuisance on the KBR Park road.
According to the information, one of the drunk woman stood on the middle of the road near KBR Park around Saturday midnight and caused nuisance for one-and-a-half hour by stopping motorists and tried to pelt stones at the speeding cars. The bewildered motorists alerted the Banjara Hills police about the drunken lady on the busy road. Yet, the police remained calm for an hour for the reasons best known to them.
The six women reportedly came out of a pub located on the KBR road stretch and started arguing among themselves. Even one of them came on the road and started stopping motorists and went on creating nuisance on the stretch late in the night. A few persons, apparently known to the women, tried to prevent them from creating nuisance on the road and go home, but in vain. Two among the drunken women abused each other in foul language, grappled and shouted at each other. With this, the vehicular traffic came to a grinding halt on the main road for an hour.
Later, on receipt of the information, the Banjara Hills police rushed to the spot, but could not silence the drunken women. Meanwhile, women cops from other police stations came to the KBR park stretch and took them into custody. All of them were shifted to the Banjara Hills police station where again one of them created nuisance and shouted at the policemen on duty. Unable to discipline the arrogant women, the called their parents and relatives and handed them over to them.
Nigerian held for creating nuisance
In another incident, a Nigerian created nuisance during drunk and drive check on Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 conducted by the traffic police. The offender tried to attack media personnel, who were covering the drunk and drive checking. Alerted by the traffic police, the Jubilee Hills police and took the Nigerian into custody.
