Hyderabad: In continuation of Road Safety Week programme and to create Traffic awareness among the youth and public, Hyderabad Traffic Police organised “3 KM Walk” from Charminar on Friday.
In this programme, Addl. Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar addressed the gathering of 1,000 school children of various educational institutions of Traffic South District. He emphasised on strict observance of Road Rules from the early ages itself and explains “ABC” principles of Road Safety. He further made a point on “How to reduce Road fatal accidents in Hyderabad City?” and urged the students and gathering to follow Traffic Rules for their own safety and others too.
An oath wad administered to school children and gathering that everyone will follow traffic rules and make Hyderabad City as Accident-Free City. Later, Addl. CP (Tr) Hyderabad flagged of “3 KM Walk” at historical monument Charminar to Engine bowli X Road, Falaknuma.
K. Babu Roa, DCP, Tr-II presided over the meeting and invited the school children and guests. P. Karunakar, Addl. DCP, South District, Tr. ACP, South Zone and all Inspectors of South Zone participated in this Traffic awareness programme.
Today, at Abids Traffic Police, in association with Side Kick Automotives, a traffic awareness campaign was organised on wearing of helmets at GPO, Abids. Addl. CP, Traffic, Hyderabad City participated in this programme. In this programme, he explained the importance of wearing a helmet while driving two-wheelers and how the helmet minimizes the head injuries and fatalities. Addl. CP (Tr) made a striking note: “Helmet wearing – A choice between life and death” and adjured all motorcycle riders and pillion riders to wear a helmet. (50) helmets sponsored by Side Kick Automotives Pvt. Ltd., were distributed to commuters by Addl. CP, Tr., Hyd.
In addition to the above, Traffic awareness programmes were conducted in the limits of all 25 Traffic Police Stations of Hyderabad City, covering 25 education institutions, 4 RTC Depots and 16 Auto Stands, imparted Traffic awareness to nearly 5,000 persons.
Hyderabad Traffic Police will continue to conduct awareness programmes to create more Traffic awareness in the commuters and strive to make Hyderabad City as Accident-Free City.
