Hyderabad: Two pilots injured as aircraft explodes while crash landing

Two pilots, including a woman, were injured when an Air Force training aircraft exploded and crashed at Duddeda in Siddipet district on Friday.

The trainee aircraft, which took off from the Hakimpet Air Force Training Academy, developed a technical snag within minutes. As the pilot and co-pilot were trying to crash land the aircraft, pilot Reshmi tried to jump down and suffered injuries on her leg. Both the crew was rushed to Siddipet government hospital and later shifted to a private hospital in the city. Their condition was stated to be stable. The aircraft was reduced to ashes.

It may be recalled that a training aircraft of the same college crashed near Keesara on the city outskirts last month. None was injured in the incident though. (NSS)
