Hyderabad: A 20-year-old pub dancer was allegedly sexually harassed and almost raped at Narpally, on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Friday by a cab driver and three other men.
On May 12th, the victim, a married woman had called up the cab driver, identified as Ravi and had asked him to drop her at Uppal. He picked her up from her residence, although there were already three other men in the car.
“Ravi told her that the trio was going to Srisailam and he would drop her at Uppal,” Ghatkesar Police Station Inspector B Prakash said.
Citing the complaint, Prakash said that on the way, Ravi bought her a beer which she downed. Later, he took the car near a college and forced her to have sex with them. When she refused and dialed the police, Ravi threw her phone on the ground and beat her up, the complaint states.
After she raised an alarm, the accused dropped her near Peerzadiguda near here before fleeing in the car. The woman was rescued by some local residents, Prakash said.
A case of sexual harassment and simple hurt was registered against the four accused, the officer said adding that efforts were on to nab the absconding accused.
