Hyderabad: Young lovers jumped from the 3rd floor to attempt suicide

A young couple attempted suicide by jumping from the third floor of a building at Yadadri as they were worried about being traced by their parents, The duo suffered severe injuries on their spines and also fractured their legs. They have been admitted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment and are stated to be critical, said the police.

The victims identified as M. Manish, 20, and C. Akshaya, 18, were residents of Subhash Nagar in Alwal. They were neighbours and also distant relatives. The youngsters were in love for some time and ran away secretly in order to get married from their homes on September 28.

A complaint at Alwal police station was lodged on the day Akshaya went missing from her home, the couple reached Yadadri on Tuesday and tried to find a room. As they were not married, they could not get a room they were waiting at the Sri Chakra Complex.

Yadadri inspector A. Narasimha Rao said, “At around 7 pm, the parents of both Manish and Akshaya reached Yadadri and went searching for them at the complex. But when the couple realised this, they went to the third floor of the complex and jumped from there to kill themselves.

According to the Yadadri police, the youngsters received severe injuries and were shifted to hospital.
