‘I know how to cut’: Erdogan reveals part of Khashoggi killing audio

ISTANBUL: Turkey’s president Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday he has heard an audio recording of the perpetrators of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi allegedly saying: “I know how to cut well.”

Turkey has shared the audio recording with Saudi Arabia, the United States, Germany, France and Canada in which the “morgue employee” “openly” said he could dissect a body.

“The United States, Germany, France, Canada, we made them all listen… The man clearly says ‘I know how to cut’. This man is a soldier. These are all in the audio recordings,” Erdogan said in a speech at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) judicial conference in Istanbul.

CNN quoting a source reported on Monday that Khashoggi during his final moments repeatedly told his killers “I can’t breathe.”

Khashoggi, a Washington Post columnist and prominent critic of 33-year-old Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was murdered on October 2 after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to collect documents for his forthcoming marriage.

His remains have not been found.
