IAF test hacked: Involved Students let off after Police warning

Chandigarh: The Police has let off the five students after warning them not to involve themselves in such anti-social activities.

The five students were involved in cheating at Rohtak exam centre after hacking into Indian Air Force online test for airmen on September 13.

Talking to HT, Rohtak city SHO Jagbir Singh said, “Keeping in view the future of these children, they will be let off after a warning. However, they are being quizzed about the modus operandi of the gang involved and the details of exchange of money.

“These boys would be asked to identify the accused as after they are nabbed,” he added.

As many as 5 lakh candidates are reported to have appeared for the Airmen Cadre IAF examination across 97 cities at 524 centres from September 13 to 16.

According to the SHO, two of the seven accused, identified as Hardik and Sombir, have so far been arrested while the police are conducting raids to nab the remaining 5 accused involved in hacking.

“Among those on the run are Aditya, who runs a computer centre in Gurgaon; JS Dahiya, a former principal of the ITI, Jhajjar; Sanjay Ahlawat, an aide of Dahiya, who runs a coaching centre; Jatinder Siwach and Sahil said the SHO, adding that they had charged Rs 5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh per candidate.

The hackers were allegedly helping the candidates through a parallel network with the help of various experts he added.
