MUMBAI: In the midst of the #MeToo wave, a throwback interview of Salman Khan talking about hitting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, his then-girlfriend has surfaced and is going viral now.
In the video footage belongs to NDTV, wherein the journalist questions the Sultan actor if he ever hit a woman, implying Aishwarya.
To his reply, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor says, “Yeah, now that woman has said that I have. I mean there was a journalist Prabhu Chawla who asked me this long time ago, so I just banged the table and he got startled, the table really broke.”
He further added, “I mean, if I hit somebody, it’s obviously a fight, I am going to be angry. I am going to whack and give it my best shot. I don’t think she would’ve survived it.”

Pinkvilla reported Aishwarya saying, “He would call me and talk rubbish. He also suspected that I was having affairs with my co-stars. There were times when Salman got physical with me, luckily without leaving any marks. I would go to work as if nothing happened. That is why, like any other self-respecting woman, I ended my relationship with him.”
A couple of months after Aishwarya’s 2002 interview, Salman responded to her allegations. He said, “I have never beaten her. I get emotional and hurt myself. I have banged my head against the wall but I cannot hurt anyone else,” Salman Khan stated.
The #MeToo movement is gaining momentum in India after Tanushree Dutta’s allegations of sexual harassment on Nana Patekar and Ganesh Acharya.
