Incapacitated CBI threat to democracy

“The Prime Minister’s message is clear, whoever comes near Rafale will be removed, wiped out. The country and the constitution are in danger,” tweeted Rahul Gandhi. Congress president gave a clear message to the world that this government is a threat to both the constitution and the democracy of the country.

In a twist to the massive internal battle within the agency, the top two of the CBI, Alok Verma and his deputy Rakesh Asthana, were sent on leave and several officers were transferred. Rahul Gandhi has claimed that CBI chief Alok Verma was sent on leave because he was “collecting papers of the Rafale scam.”

Making scathing attacks on Narendra Modi, while addressing a public rally in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar district, Mr Gandhi said that the prime minister sought votes saying he wanted to become the ‘chowkidar’ of the country but “the ‘chowkidar’ committed theft”.

The situation is very appalling. When lost faith in the police and other investigative agency, people would demand CBI enquiry. They had hope that CBI will provide them justice but the Modi government is also killing India’s premier investigation agency.
