Melbourne: In a shocking incident an Indian Student was gravely injured to death after he went on to meet a girl he met through a dating site in Australia.
The murdered student is identified as Maulin Rathod aged around 25, was attacked after he went to visit the girl at her house in Sunbury suburb in west Melbourne around 9pm (local time) on Monday night,NDTV reported.
Maulin was an accounting student and breathed his last breath last night at the hospital after he was found in critical condition with life-threatening injuries at the girls’ house by the emergency services media reports said.
Meanwhile, the teenage girl is arrested and charged with intentionally causing serious injuries which will now be reviewed and upgraded to murder following Ratho’ds death last night.
The girl was produced before the Melbourne Magistrates Court last night and was remanded in custody to appear again.
Lovepreet Singh, Rathod’s friend said he was the only child of his parents and had moved to Australia four years back for education.
“His parents are in shock,” he said.
“He was a very nice person, had a jolly nature and was a cricket lover. I loved to hang around him. He had a very humble personality and tried really hard with his studies,” he said.
