IndiGo leaves CAT chairman stranded at Hyderabad airport

Hyderabad (Telangana): Former Chief Justice of Patna High Court and Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) chairman, Justice L Narsimha Reddy on Tuesday alleged that he was left stranded at the Hyderabad airport by IngiGo airlines despite having a boarding pass.

Justice Reddy was travelling from Hyderabad to Bangalore and had a connecting flight also from Bangalore to Hubli, but IndiGo airlines cancelled his connecting flight ticket because he was unable to board from Hyderabad. After that Justice Reddy took another flight and reached Bangalore.

According to Justice Reddy, he had finished the security process and was at a VIP lounge when boarding gates opened. He then went to buy a water bottle and by the time he returned, the boarding gates were closed.

Talking to ANI over the phone, Justice Reddy said that he will file a case against IndiGo airlines to Civil Aviation Minister and DGCA tomorrow.

Meanwhile, IndiGo airlines have issued a statement and apologised to Justice Reddy.

“We have contacted Judge Reddy to express our apologies. IndiGo is committed to courteous and hassle-free service for all of our customers and we sincerely regret that we failed to meet our service standards in this situation. We are reviewing our processes to prevent a similar occurrence in the future,” the statement read.
