Indonesia: 3 churches attacked; 9 killed, a dozen injured

Jakarta: Three bomb attacks were made on three churches in Surabaya city of Indonesia killing at least nine people and injuring nearly a dozen. According to Indonesia police, the attacks were almost-simultaneous, occurred during Sunday morning Masses.

The first attack was made at the Santa Maria Roman Catholic Church in Surabaya, in which four people were killed, including the suspected bomber. The second explosion occurred minutes later at the Christian Church of Diponegoro killing two people. While the third attack was made at the city’s Pantekosta Church which killed two. Altogether nine people died in the attacks.

Reportedly the IS group has claimed responsibility.
