`Injured` Sunil Ambris ruled out of Kiwis ODIs

Barbados [West Indies]: West Indies batsman Sunil Ambris has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against New Zealand due to a fractured forearm.

The 24-year-old sustained the injury on his left forearm on the final day of the second and final Test, which the Caribbean side went on to lose by huge 240 runs in Hamilton to lose the series 0-2 against New Zealand.

Ambris, who was playing his debut series and was batting at No.6, was on four when he was caught by a rising delivery during a feisty spell from New Zealand short-ball specialist Neil Wagner, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Following the hit, the West Indies batsman faced two more balls before walking off and visibly in pain.

He did not come to bat again and later it was revealed that he has suffered a fracture.

The Caribbean side are slated to play three ODIs from December 20 in Whangarei, followed by three T20Is over the New Year period. (ANI)
