Nagaland: Muslim Council of Dimapur decides to regulate masjids

Guwahati: Muslim Council of Dimapur (MCD) decided to verify and register masjids in Nagaland.

According to the news published in The Asian Age, Ahidur Rahman, Working President of MCD said that this decision was taken at a joint meeting of all Pangajana and Jame masjids which was held on 17th September.

Verification of masjids will be done to ascertain that the norms are followed.

This decision of MCD is important as reports claimed that Rohingyas are posing a serious threat to the security of the State.

Earlier, a section of the media reported that Rohingyas pose a serious threat to the security of India’s north-eastern state Nagaland as around 2,000 local Muslims have volunteered to take up arms against the Nagas if the latter try to drive them out.

It is also reported that Imam of Dimapur is contacting the Rohingya rebels and has commenced collecting a huge amount of arms and ammunition from Bangladesh.
