IPS Officer Aslam Khan helps Mansingh’s family, sets example of humanity

New Delhi: Sardar Mansingh who was a truck driver had saved Rs. 80000 to meet the wedding expenses of his nephew. He was heading from Delhi towards Kashmir to meet his mother, wife and children. After he lost the way, he got off the truck to find out the route. Suddenly, two miscreants armed with lethal weapons attacked him. In the attack, he was seriously injured and after some time, he breathed his last.

On the next morning, the phone call of Mansingh’s death shattered the dreams of his family but the next call brought a ray of hope. It was from a lady police officer, Ms. Aslam Khan, IPS, DCP of North-West Delhi. She deposited half of her monthly salary in the account of the family of the deceased and promised to bear all the educational expenses of Mansingh’s children.

It may be mentioned that so far, Ms. Aslam Khan did not meet Mansingh’s family. She telephones them regularly to enquire about their wellbeing.

Mansingh’s daughter, Baljeet Kaur aspires to become a police officer like Ms. Aslam Khan.

From this humanitarian act, it is proved that humanity is above the barriers of religion.
