Irrfan Khan suffering from NeuroEndocrine Tumour, releases statement on Twitter

MUMBAI: Actor Irrfan Khan who last week had disclosed that he is suffering from a rare disease and is fighting for choices has revealed his medical ailment.

The actor on Friday took to his Twitter handle to reveal that he has been suffering from ‘NeuroEndocrine Tumour’ and that he will be treated for it abroad.

He also clarified that ‘NEURO’ is not always about the brain and that googling is not always the easiest way to research.

At the end of the post he writes, “To those who waited for my words, I hope to be back with more stories to tell.”

The 51-year-old actor on March 5, via his social media account issued a statement about his life being shaken up by a ‘rare disease’ and will share the details in a few days once there’s a conclusive diagnosis.

He added: “I have never given up and have always fought for my choices and always will.”

Last week, Irrfan’s wife Sutapa Sikdar in a Facebook post requested fans of the actor to refrain from speculating about his disease.

“I am at present focused in the strategies of the battlefield which I have to conquer. It wasn’t and isn’t going to be easy but the hope ignited by the magnitude of family, friends and fans of Irrfan has made me only optimistic and almost sure of the victory.”
