Islamic center under conflicts, a lady approached HC claiming the land

Hyderabad: The Wakf land belonging to Dargah Hazrat Husain Shah Wali located at Manikonda was earmarked for the established of Islamic Cultural and Convention center. It is reported that a woman and five others filed a petition in the High Court claiming ownership on this land. Justice A Rajasekhara Reddy issued stay order on their petitions. HC issued notices to Collector of Hyderabad and Wakf Board to submit their replies.

Wakf Board officials informed that the said women had already approached the court earlier but the judgment was given in facour of Wakf Board. Now that the Govt. decided to established Islamic Cultural and Convention Center, the land has come under a conflict which is worrying the Dept. of Minorities Welfare.

It is indicated that many individuals have been claiming ownership on this land since 2006. The Dept. of Minorities Welfare had submitted a report to CM that six acre wakf land belonging to Dargah Hazrat Husain Shah Wali is free from litigations. It is not possible to go ahead with the construction Islamic Center till the case is decided by the court.
