J-K govt organizes special camp to promote soft tennis

Srinagar: For the promotion of sports activities in Jammu & Kashmir, the state government organised special camp at Multi Sports Activity Center in Srinagar to promote soft tennis.

The special camp was organized by soft tennis association of Kashmir in collaboration with state sports council, aimed to promote the soft tennis and provide a platform to the budding players of the state who want to be
professionals in this field.

Ghulam Hassan, organizer of the camp said, “We have organised a 21 days special camp in association with J&K sports council to promote Soft Tennis skill among the youths of the state.”

The event saw the participation of around 200 youths including boys and girls from every region of the state.

Insha Wani, a player from Kashmir said, “It’s a great initiative promoting the participation of girls in sports.

Soft tennis will enhance the fitness levels and increase job opportunities for the youth.”

“Soft tennis camp is excellent, coaches here are very cooperative. It’s a great initiative, more camps need to be set up across J&K,” said Sumanyu a young player from Jammu.

Soft tennis is similar to lawn tennis, the only difference soft tennis has, is the use of softball (rubber ball).
