Jagan to launch Rythu Bharosa program from Oct 15

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy here today announced that he would launch the Rythu Bharosa program under which the government would pay Rs 12,500 to farmers from October 15. He also disclosed that the “Annadata Sukhibhava” program introduced by his predecessor N Chandrababu Naidu was being scrapped.

The AP Chief Minister reviewed Agriculture and its related issues with the officials of the departments concerned at his official residence at Tadepalli. Expressing his displeasure over distribution of spurious seeds in the State, Jagan directed the officials concerned not to hesitate to punish the culprits with iron hand and them to jails, if necessary.

The Chief Minister also asked the officials to formulate an action plan to curb the menace and bring about a law to deal with the unscrupulous seed merchants sternly.

The Chief Minister also asked the officials to make arrangements to supply seed and fertilizers to the farmers through gram panchayats. He also said the honest officials and their staff will be felicitated. He also announced that a Rs 3-crore Market Stabilization Fund would be incorporated in the State Budget and affected farmers would be protected from incurring losses in farming.
