Jagga Reddy wants CM to resolve singur water issue, Deeksha on Feb 18

Hyderabad: Sangareddy MLA and senior Congress Leader T. Jagga Reddy on Friday demanded the chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the state government to immediately solve the Singur water issue. He said that water scarcity in his constituency was very acute and added that he was prevented by the police when he held an agitation on the issue as the former MLA of the constituency earlier.

He alleged that the former irrigation minister T. Harish Rao had forgotten his promise of filling up the singur project with water. He also alleged that Harish Rao took the water of singur Dam to Sriram sagar project without issuing any kind of clearance for the same. He made it clear that singur water was not a private property of Harish Rao, but a public property. He said that there was a rule to give One tmc of water to his Sangareddy constituency and alleged that Harish rao treated singur and Manjeera water as his own property. He once again demanded Harish rao to tender an unconditional apology to the people of Sangareddy, besides filling up the singur reservoir. He said that he would launch a Deeksha in Sangareddy from February 18, 2019 along with his wife on the issue and added that his fight would continue till he got water for his constituency.

Jagga reddy said that he would meet with the CM on the issue and hoped that the ruling TRS party MLAs would also extend their support on the issue for the welfare of the people of the undivided Medak district. He said that he would distribute pamphlets on the loot of water by Harish rao in his constituency and added that he would see as to how many days he would be stopped from holding the agitation. He made it clear that he would take his agitation very seriously while noting that he had warned the state government that the release of water from Singur dam would create problems to the people of his constituency.
