Jagga slams Harish Rao for making baseless allegations

Hyderabad: Congress MLA from Sangareddy Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy here on Saturday alleged that TRS leader T. Harish Rao was making baseless allegations against his party. He said the people of the State were aware of all the development works taken up by the Congress in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh State.

Addressing mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, Jagga Reddy reminded all that the Telangana State was carved out by Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi. He told Harish Rao that his family had got many posts due to the formation of the State. He also said the ruling party mischievously changed the name of Ambedkar Pranahita Chevella project as Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. He said irrigation projects like Singur, Manjeera, SRSP, Nagarjuna Sagar, Srisailam, Devadula, Jurala, Yellampally, Koilsagar, Alisagar, Gutpa and several others were conceived and built by the Congress party.

Asserting that Congress Chief Ministers constructed all the irrigation projects in the State, Jagga Reddy ridiculed the TRS leaders for taking credit by building one Kaleswaram project. He also said the Kaleswaram waters would be used to fill Singur and Manjeera projects. He dared Harish Rao to hold a public debate on the issue at the Martyrs memorial opposite the Assembly building complex. He also alleged that the ruling party was trying to erase the Congress party from the political scene of the State by making baseless allegations. He made it clear that the Congress party only talked about corruption in the Kaleswaram project by the ruling party leaders.
