Jagriti Yatra concludes 15 day entrepreneurial train journey

New Delhi: World’s largest entrepreneurial train journey, Jagriti Yatra has concluded its 15-day journey, covering over 8000 kilometers with a vision of “Building India through Enterprise”.

500 yatris, who were selected from over a pool of 15,000 applications from India and abroad, represented over 49 countries and 28 states.

During the 15-day journey, the yatris were exposed to an entrepreneurial ecosystem, comprising of four axes of learning: panel discussions, role-model visits, yatri interactions, and biz Gyan tree.

Around 450+ yatris reached New Delhi and visited Goonj’s center in Sarita Vihar to understand the issues of Sanitation and women empowerment. Anshu Gupta, founder Goonj, addressed the yatris and shared his growth journey.

Ramon Magsaysay Award winner, Anshu Gupta was a prominent part of Jagriti tradition since its onset. An innovator in the field of sustainability, GOONJ believes that clothing is one of the most unaddressed basic needs of people.

The yatris moved to NCUI auditorium, and where they were addressed by Param Iyer, the man responsible for Swachh Bharat, and Incredible India campaigns. He shared various points around how water and sanitation have been a challenge for our country, and the model they are following to curb the issue.

“India has a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a new country, we have only 15 years to do this as by then our demographic ratio will peak and start to recede. The Jagriti community is driving urgency to this task of nation-building over the coming two decades,” said Chairman Jagriti Yatra, Shashank Mani.

Jagriti as an organization has been supporting district entrepreneurs, through its various initiatives, namely Jagriti Yatra, Jagriti Enterprise Center, Sustainable Enterprise Award and Jagriti Enterprise Network.

The diversity and versatility, that yatris bring to the table are quite extensive and strongly contributes to the awakening of their entrepreneurial spirit. So far, 51% have joined social initiatives, 53% have set up enterprises in cities, and 47% have set up enterprises in small towns and rural areas. Close to 20 lakh people have benefited from these enterprises, with the number growing each year.

The yatra received tremendous support from world-renowned brands including Google, Schneider Electric, Rolls Royce, TATA, Coca-Cola India, HSBC, PwC, Ministry of Railways, BASF India, AP Innovation Society, and many others.
