Jaipal predicts ‘rejected’ TRS will join hands with BJP after polls

Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy on Sunday predicted that the ruling TRS and the BJP would join hands in Telangana State after the upcoming elections.

He made these remarks while addressing the media in New Delhi. Jaipal Reddy said , “ I am 100 percent sure that both the TRS and BJP will join hands after the Assembly elections because the TRS will not even retain 50 percent of its existing seats after the elections if we go by the current political situation in the State and the BJP will manage to win six to seven seats. This will force KCR to seek the support of BJP. This will leave the party president KCR with no option but to seek the support of the BJP as he was maintaining cordial relationship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said.

“I am confident that the Congress would secure comfortable majority and form the government in the State. Majority of the people in the State are in favor of the Congress and they will bless the grand alliance to form the government in the State,” he noted.

Jaipal Reddy also opined that KCR was not happy with his decision to go for early elections in the State by dissolving the Assembly. Asked whether he would be a strong contender for Chief Minister post if the party returns to power in the State, he made it clear that he was neither in the race for the CM’s nor inclined to contest the elections due to his age-related factors and health condition.
