Japan: Shinzo Abe got re-elected as PM

Tokyo: Shinzo Abe got re-elected as Japan’s Prime Minister on Wednesday ahead of US President’s expected visit to the country to discuss the concerns of North Korea.

Mr. Abe, 63, was earlier elected in 2012 promising the country to help in rebooting Japan’s economy along with helping to improve Defence.

Last month on 22 October Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party has won around two-thirds of the parliament’s lower house seats.

He is expected to reappoint the current cabinet ministers and ask the Ministers to organize an extra budget for the year until March 31, 2018. He is expected to focus on child care and boost productivity.

Mr Abe and US President on Monday have discussed to have agreed to work together on steps to be taken to counter Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile development.

Japanese Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Yasutoshi Nishimura told the sources that Mr. Trump told Mr. Abe that “he is looking forward to his visit to Japan, that Japan and America are 100 percent together and there is no room to doubt the Japan-U.S. alliance”.

The US President will be visiting Japan from 5-7 November and is expected to play golf with Mr Abe during his stay in Japan.
