Jimmy Kimmel’s baby son has `successful` second heart surgery

Washington: ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ host’s son Billy has had a ‘successful’ second round of surgery following which Kimmel will take time off from the show to be with his family.

The representatives of the show, on Monday, announced in a statement that the 7-month-old “had a scheduled and successful heart surgery this morning.”

According to People Magazine, the network also revealed that the 50-year-old is “with his family” and will have celebrity guests filling in as host of ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ for the week.

Originally, Billy’s surgery was scheduled in late October but had to be postponed “due to the common cold,” the network said in a statement at the time.

Billy was born to Kimmel and wife Molly McNearney in April with heart defects that required one surgery immediately after his birth, and a second surgery months later.

Following the successful surgery, this week’s guest hosts include Chris Pratt, Tracee Ellis Ross, Neil Patrick Harris and Melissa McCarthy.
