New Delhi: A condolence meeting was held by Jamia Administrative Staff Association (JASA) and Sir Syed Mission Foundation at the auditorium of Jamia Engineering Faculty to pay tributes to former Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia and noted historian Prof. Musheer ul Hasan.
Wife of Musheer ul Hasan Prof. Zoya Hasan, his brother Mujeeb ul Hasan, elder sister and other family members attended the meeting.
Khaja Mohammed Shahid, Prof Shameem Hanfi, Prof Apoorvanand, secretary All India Congress Committee Dr Shakeel Ahmed, former cabinet minister Arif Mohammed Khan, Prof Danish Iqbal, Mohammed Shakir, president JASA Arif Naqvi, General Secretary Naseem Ahmed and Secretary Sir Syed Mission Husain Waheed addressed the meeting.
The speakers remembered the educational services of the late Prof Musheer ul Hasan and requested the administration of the Jamia to name the Dental College after him, keeping in view remarkable services of the academician.
They also proposed to begin annual memorial lecture in memory of Prof Musheerul Hasan and to establish Musheer ul Hasan Chair to continue his educational works. The meeting concluded with prayers for the deceased.
