Jobless youths may have to wait for the allowance, KCR

HYDERABAD: While campaigning in the recent assembly polls the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to pay the jobless youth Rs 3,016 as monthly allowance.

According to the report published in the Times of India, the unemployment allowance to jobless youth may take more time to roll out. A high-level committee will be formed soon and first have to define unemployment, take a tour to other states to study the schemes and prepare guidelines

Over 24.5 lakh people had already registered themselves with the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) as part of a one-time registration facility.

Sources said that the state has no data on the number of unemployed people, as not all the registered members are jobless.

An official added that many of the 24.5 lakh registered with TSPSC have a job in the government or private sector. But a large number of those registered with TSPSC and working as private employees are aspiring for government jobs.

Manavta Roy, chairman of unemployed youth joint action committee told TOI that they would launch an agitation if KCR fails to implement his promise with retrospective effect from December 13.

Meanwhile, BC Welfare Association chairman R Krishnaiah demanded that Inter must be fixed as minimum education so that jobless youth from poor sections are covered in large numbers.
