Jobs Fraud: Cyber Cell of Rachakonda arrests two

Hyderabad: The Cyber Cell of Rachakonda has arrested two persons at Nagpur of Maharashtra State for duping the unemployed youth by promising jobs in Hyderabad Metro Railway Ltd. One Tata bolt Car, 3 mobile phones, two PAN cards with different names and other incriminating material was seized.

In the month of March 2017, the victim P.Srikanth of Nagole received a Whatsapp call enquiring whether anyone interested to do Job in Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). Responding to the call he told that, his sister searching for a suitable job and submitted her documents to given email ID: after that, he paid total Rs. 2 lakh for ticket clerk Job. After that, the victim in order to help his relatives and friends requested with the caller to provide jobs for four other persons also. Thereafter the victim collected money from his four other relatives and deposited in the bank accounts as suggested by the fraudster. The fraudster conducted a mock interview over the telephone and made them believe that they will get appointment orders soon. After few days the fraudster stopped responding to emails and phone calls, and then the victim realized that they got cheated and lodged complaint

During the course of investigation based on the technical and electronic evidence, the hideouts of the fraudsters have been identified at Nagpur and a team of cyber cell raided the premises on yesterday and arrested two persons namely Rakesh patro. n/o Naugon (v), Orissa state and his lady companion (bank account holder in which the victims have deposited the money) G. Krishna Kavitha.

From the confessions and analysis of the material seized from them, it is established that they have cheated five victims on the pretext of providing jobs in HMRL and collected amount of Rs. 9,75,000/-. The investigation also revealed that the same accused have also cheated eight other victims of Malkajgiri area and duped them Rs. 10,00,000/- and the case is pending against the same accused. The investigation also revealed that the fraudster Rakesh Patro earlier worked in various projects of L&T and having knowledge of recruitment procedure. Because of that, he successfully made the victims believe that he will provide jobs in L&T Metro Railway Hyderabad.

The arrested persons have been produced before the Honorable XVI MM Court Kukatpally and got them remanded to judicial custody. A petition is also filed seeking police custody of the arrested accused for further interrogation to identify the other victims.(NSS)
