Hyderabad: While releasing the book, “Shaher mein kya nahin tha”, Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily told that presspersons are responsible for the protection of Hyderabadi civilization and values.
He was addressing a meeting organized at Media Plus Auditorium, Abids to release the above book compiled by Mr. Baquer Mirza, retired Joint Director of Urdu News. Prof. Fatima Begum, former Head of the Department of Urdu and Vice Principal, Arts College, OU presided over the meeting.
Mr. Raheemuddin Ansari, Chairman, Urdu Academy was the Chief Guest. Dr. Shujaat Ali Rashid conducted the function. Mr. Syed Khalid Shehbaz introduced the author.
While introducing Mr. Zahid Ali Khan to the audience, Mr. Khalid Shehbaz told that Mr. Zahid Ali Khan is continuing the journalistic values and traditions set by Mr. Abid Ali Khan, Founder Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily. He also said that the secret of success of Siasat Urdu Daily is that its management takes interest in public issues and reads the pulse of its readers.
Mr. Raheemuddin Ansari in his short address congratulated the services of Mr. Baquer Mirza. Prof. Aqueel Hashmi who wrote the preface of the book said that the style of the book is very simple. Prof. Fazalullah Mukaram told that the personality of Mr. Mirza has been depicted in his essays.
Mr. TVK Reddy, Addl. Director General of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting told that Mr. Mirza is a gentleman and he deserves many awards.
Mr. Baqer Mirza recalled his association with Siasat, Mr. Abid Ali Khan, Mr. Mehboob Husain Jigar and Mr. Zahid Ali Khan.
Dr. Fazil Husain Parveez welcomed the guests and Dr. Shujaat Ali Rashid proposed vote of thanks.
