Jupally asks State Fin Commission to strengthen local bodies

Panchayat Raj Minister Jupally Krishna Rao today suggested that Telangana Finance Commission should function for state growth and remain ideal at national level. He was addressing an inaugural interactive conference of the state finance commission at Ravindra Bharati along with Council Chairman Swamy Goud and others. The minister felicitated commission Chairman Rajesham Goud and member Chennaiah on the occasion.

Krishna Rao said that the commission being led by former minister with experience should make advices and recommendations for strengthening the local bodies. The Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to offer direct funds to the local bodies in the next budget for developing the villages and towns in a big way, the minister said. Swamy Goud praised that the chief minister has offered finance minister post and finance commission post to backward class leaders. He clarified that the commission will not offer loans and will only monitor the right use of funds offered for development and welfare programs. (NSS
