Aman’s father Naeem Tandel, who lives in Govindwadi area of Kalyan, got a call late Saturday night from an unidentified number, the police official said.

“We were having dinner when we got a call on our landline. The caller said Aman was martyred in an air strike. Aman’s father Naeem answered the call but when he asked who the caller was, he hung up,” said Aman’s uncle to Hindustan Times adding:

“The call came at around 11.20pm and the caller barely spoke for 30 seconds. Naeem tried to get more details but the caller hung up. It seemed to be an international call and we will approach the police and inform them.”

Earlier this year, an ISIS video purportedly showing Aman among others and threatening to avenge the “killings of Muslims in Kashmir, Gujarat and Muzaffarnagar”, had surfaced. Aman was reportedly in touch with his family over the phone until the end of last year.
